France's leader, Nicolas Sarkozy's, will boycott the opening ceremony Beijing Olympics if China doesn't engage in talks with the Dalai Lama, end th violence in the region and release the political prisoners.

About 130 people remain imprisoned for taking part in the 1989 pro-democracy protests centered in Tiananmen Square, though releasing them would improve China's image ahead of the Beijing Olympics this summer, Human Rights Watch said. The prisoners are still being held for their role in the demonstrations that were crushed in a brutal military crackdown.

Inside, curators will display antiquities, dynastic records and reproductions to demonstrate China's dominion over Tibet as far back as the 13th century. One subject of note that is missing from the museum - the Dalai Lama, as China does not "recognize him as part of Tibet anymore"

Interesting video out of Hong Kong, where three pro-Tibet campaigners were prevented from entering the city on Tuesday and deported by the gov't just days before the Olympic torch relay though the former British colony, activists said. The three were planning to hold a news conference on the situation in Tibet, which convulsed with anti-Beijing protests in March and has been under lockdown since.
