China has declared victory over the massive lake that formed following the earthquake. This lake, which threatened to flood over a million Chinese has been drained by government engineers. "More than half of the 250-million-cubic-meter volume has been discharged and the number of people under threat had dropped from 1.3 million to less than 50,000," a Communist official told the media.
