That's what happened today as Nepal's deposed King Gyanendra left his palace for good Wednesday, marking an end to the world's last Hindu monarchy. But the 94 year old mistress of the King's grandfather was permitted to stay in the palace.

Inside, curators will display antiquities, dynastic records and reproductions to demonstrate China's dominion over Tibet as far back as the 13th century. One subject of note that is missing from the museum - the Dalai Lama, as China does not "recognize him as part of Tibet anymore"
