In short, television show Boston Legal involved two fictional cases last week, one in which the firm's lawyers are asked to represent a teenage girl seeking a judicial bypass so she obtain an abortion (as her mother won't consent).

Wu Dianyuan and Wang Xiuying are pictured above, and they symbolize what is wrong, not right with China today. The two frail women in their 70's were sentenced by the Chinese government to a re-education camp and forced labor. Their crime? Speaking out for receiving insufficient compensation when their homes were seized for redevelopment.

china's equivalent is the phrase which the media translates literally as "re-education through labor."
the latter gives the exotic feeling of gulag and hard labor, which sells news in the west.

Two Grandmas has recieved the so-called "Written decision of re-education through labor"(sent by the public security bureau of Fengtai zone,Beijing city) just because they fired crackers in the west door of Zhongnanhai and hung banners in Tiananmen Square, so I said it's just as stupid as Cindy Sheehan has been arrested in front of White House, guys.
I am so shamed that my gov is brutal like yours sometimes, what a shame! Sorry for that.

It's really not that serious. The whole thing is totally a disgusting Farce! "Written decision" without certification of court is fake and illegal. The public security bureau of Fengtai Zone even has no privilege to sent such a "Written decision". Shame for them.
They want to intimidate grandmas to back home, but guess what! Grandmas like Wu Dianyuan and Wang Xiuying are very brave, very brave indeed. And they sued the PSB for this and sue the local government for inaction. Which will make big big trouble to them.
I'm waiting for the show...
