In short, television show Boston Legal involved two fictional cases last week, one in which the firm's lawyers are asked to represent a teenage girl seeking a judicial bypass so she obtain an abortion (as her mother won't consent).
The whole story make me, a BL fan and a Chinese uncomfortable, doctor says it happens when your loving puppy is biting u.

I was going to write a bit too, about last week's Boston Legal (S5E08), which has talked about the abortion issue... of a Chinese family.
First of all, I'm a fan of BL for these years, never missed a single episode. Come on, ask me how many guns Danny Crane is always carried, what's Alen's favorite costume, have Shirley and Sack had sex or not.
But last episode made me like have a fish bone in throat. The story was discussing about parental consent for abortion, in that, a Chinese girl named Kim *** Shu was pregnant in 15, wanted an abortion, but her mother *** *** Shu disagree(I forget that ***). As always our knight Shore gave his hand to her but it turns out that the young girl want to abort the baby (or an embryo) because it's female. And Chinese has the sex selecting tradition.
It's incredible. To say a 15 years gilr who immigrated to USA, let's say, in 13? and have that good English, very imformed and very intelligence, live in town, a modern teenager want to an abortion because she knows the sex of the baby by ultrasonic. That is insane. It's more reasonable to say her mother want her to abort it because the baby's sex. But her mother, a well-educated and well-suited woman in 30~40 years, neither can has that old and ignorant notion about sex selecting. And even the family won't be so poor like the girl claimed. Anyway, the whole things make the story fake.
I live in China for almost 30 years, and my Mom worked in Birth-Control. Those story will happened in countryside, in those undeveloped area, always the family, especially the old members exert pressure upon the mother-to-be. Even in here, it's supposed to be ignorance, and oriented ultrasonic-test is forbiddened. Those story won't happen in town, at least never happened as I know, not to mention that the Kim *** Shu girl is doing it on her own initiative. What's wrong with her!
This episode is about to discuss the sensitive issue, why I feel the focus is slipping?
Oh, there are some good articles writen by Amie Newman, Josh Lasser and Rachel Walden, about this episode. They are very insightful. And I used some words of Rachel.

It's said the Boston Legal opera will end up in this season with 13 episodes. If it is so, I will miss all those guys. Especially Danny and Alen.

By the way, what the name Shu is . There is no such surname like Shu in China. I don't know, maybe it's a very rare name. Maybe the story is based in a real case.
