In their first direct talks since the outbreak of violence in Tibet in March, Chinese officials met with representatives of the Dalai Lama on Sunday, although it was unclear whether there was any progress in easing tensions between Beijing and the exiled Tibetan leader. China does not want Tibet to be a black eye while they take center stage during the Olympics.

nothing came out! Gyari Lodoe just went there to confirm that doors for dialogue are open!!!! always the same phrase!!
I wonder if there is any door at all! Next time they should remove all the doors and say that it was open sapce!!!
Hopefully this can lead to a positive dialog between the two sides. But the question remains will anything come out of the talks?
