Gates: U.S. would support Afghan peace talks with Taliban

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said the United States would be prepared to reconcile with the Taliban if the Afghan government pursued talks to end the seven-year conflict in that country. The Taliban has been battling a U.S.-led coalition since it was toppled from power in 2001 for harboring Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda terrorist network.

Thank you. Actually I'm doing the phycho-support job in Guangzhou now. They postponed the schedule to Mianyang, I will go there in the early days in June.









Eguda - thanks for the update, and stay safe while traveling in the region. Its interesting to read your take on the events in China. I've been surprised by how open the Chinese media has been. it seems those restrictions have either been lifted or were exaggerated. I hope we hear more positive stories coming out of China and that perhaps more survivors are found and families are reunited.
